Thanks for posting this Bernie. I liken the use of AI to the antithesis of the art form of Kintsugi (fixing broken pottery, enhancing the cracks with gold), or the idea that there is always a flaw put into a woven tapestry. There is something very important to me about making mistakes, and how they are uniquely human.

The rock in the river disrupts the flow, but the river creates beautiful patterns around the disruption.

Yes, outstanding! I love the Kintsugi practice! Thank you for relating to the authenticity of our words!

Bernie, I have deeply enjoyed wandering through the parts of your brain that you are willing to share with us in your writing. The meandering journey is just that, curious, creative, adventurous, and I never know what is coming next. I appreciate that about you.

And, I appreciate you constantly offering validation and affirmation for everyone to take their own course of wandering, even if that means an occasional short cut.

Thank you for your words of validation and kindness. It means so much! I respect all means of creation and I think it's important to share how it works for me. I think that became even clearer once I understood no one sees the world like me...and no one sees it like you...and so on...

I have not used AI in my creative process at all. Fear, I guess or being questioned if I actually wrote or drew someone. I figured don't dabble don't get questioned.

I believe in our dashboard that little orange box we can ask questions to is AI. That is basically my only experience. I'm not knocking it's use, I just prefer not to.

Thank you, Debra - I think it's all relative, and it's there if you need it or want it. I do think we are entering a time where, if we use it, we should disclose its use, instead, I fear we are moving toward those who don't use it needing to state they don't.

I don't understand the use of using AI to write your posts. Because it's not your thoughts coming from you at that point.

I understand people who don't have artistic skill or ability at all ...wanting to use it for art to decorate their posts. It's not the emphasis of the post. Just decoration.

I'm simply saying what I do and don't understand. And not needing any justifications.

The evolution of all of this will continue regardless of any of our opinions.

Really balanced post, enjoyed reading it.

Thank you. I get both sides as well, but sometimes it can hit on a personal level especially with my art. Lately, I've had people question if I actually drew it. That stings a bit. I get over it and move on knowing what I've done...and I think if you do use AI art it should be flagged accordingly. But again, it's a new age and I don't lose sleep over it :) Appreciate you reading and commenting, my friend.

I totally get it and I have friends who are professional artists in the movie industry and are directly and greatly impacted by this. 👍

I don't knowingly use AI although it keeps tapping me on the shoulder all the time

I'm always reluctant but as a tool it can be useful in some areas. Always worth seeing what's under the hood. :)

Thank you, Bernie. I've been using AI as a tool. I've been finding the opposite though, it is opening up my creativity and inspiration again. My brain, with PTSD and brain fog, seems more hyperfocused on one path. Brainstorming with AI allows me to expand my creativity, not because of the ideas it comes back with but because those ideas allow other ones to flow for me. It's retraining my brain, and I feel like I'm slowly becoming more me again. I don't use it for writing words, it's horrible at that. Gemini honors that better than ChatGPT, which loves to write.

This is truly beautiful. I love that it's helping you expand outside of your usual patterns. That's what happened to me in using the iPad to draw. It opened up more possibilities.

Love your reflection and how you have a newfound appreciation and reverence for your brain after TBI.

Also LOVE this line : ‘Nothing in nature is straight’.

It’s a beautiful reminder that everything belongs.

AI belongs . And not-AI belongs . Because it already exists . Like natures twists and curves. 👏🏻👍🏻🙌

Thank you! It does all belong and I think its important to not allow it to change our natural wandering ways through the forest.

For myself, I almost never use AI. The older I get, the more I want to be out in nature, among the trees, that is where my creativity rekindles itself and my soul speaks the loudest. From there, I can write imperfectly perfectly. Also, I just bought a piece of your artwork, it's astounding and I am in full admiration, because of and in spite of AI! Last, the typo in your piece, the word that was supposed to be tool and instead was took, added to the overall irony and perfection of the essay. ¨̮
